On September 11, 2020, HUD announced nearly $2 Billion in CARES ACT Relief funds focused on communities with higher risk of eviction. Specifically, these funds are targeted for households in communities that meet the following criteria: 1) Have high rates of individuals in industries with high job loss in states with high unemployment; 2) Have high rates of businesses in industries with high job loss in states with high unemployment; and 3) Have concentration of those most at risk for transmission and risk of eviction, with higher amounts for states with high rates of coronavirus.
