On September 11, 2020, HUD announced nearly $2 Billion in CARES ACT Relief funds focused on communities with higher risk of eviction. Specifically, these funds are targeted for households in communities that meet the following criteria: 1) Have high rates of individuals in industries with high job loss in states with high unemployment; 2) Have high rates of businesses in industries with high job loss in states with high unemployment; and 3) Have concentration of those most at risk for transmission and risk of eviction, with higher amounts for states with high rates of coronavirus.
The City of Pomona received an additional award of CARES Act funds through Round 3 of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV3) program which was appropriated in the FY 2020-2021 to eligible programs.
The Neighborhood Services Department is currently accepting applications for the following Emergency Rental & Business Assistance Programs.
The City has committed approximately $350,000 in federal CDBG-CV funding under the CARES ACT for business stabilization grants up to $5,000 per business.
Pomona Business Assistance Program (PBAP) is designed to address the adverse impacts of the novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) to the economy, including jobs and businesses. PBAP grants will support small businesses undergoing financial hardship due to a loss or reduction in revenue directly related to COVID-19.
