Under the provisions of the City's Donation Policy for Catastrophic Illness, employees may donate leave accruals to an eligible City employee who has exhausted his/her accrued leave credits. Donated leave credits will be used to cover the employees absence due to a catastrophic illness or injury of an immediate family member or the employee's own serious heath condition which results in the employee being required to take time off from work for an extended period.

Immediate Family Members include the following:

• employee's spouse
• registered domestic partner
• children
• step children
• foster children
• parents
