The Youth Services Program introduces children to the functions, activities, and purposes of the Public Library. We promote the use of the library (both educational and recreational) through public contact, brochures, booklist, monthly calendars, displays, and programs for children.

The Youth Services staff selects children's books and materials, as well as fiction for young adults. Staff develops and presents programs such as Pre-school and Toddler story times, programs for visiting classes, outreach to Pomona schools, special holiday programs, seasonal reading programs, tours, film programs, and library instruction. Staff coordinates the use of volunteers for children's programs. Staff also runs and maintains a Dial-a-story telephone service that presents a new story each week for young children.
