On December 4, 2008, Elliott Rothman took the oath of office to serve as Mayor of the City of Pomona. Prior to being elected to serve as Mayor, Mr. Rothman served as City Council Member for Pomona’s District Five from 1996 – 2008 representing the Phillips Ranch, Westmont, and the Cal Poly area.
As a long time resident, Mr. Rothman continues to be actively involved in his community. He is a proud supporter and volunteer of a number of local organizations and groups.
One of his noted accomplishments was his initiative to bring the Vietnam Veteran Moving Wall Memorial to the City of Pomona. With five years in the making, the Moving Wall Memorial made its debut in Pomona on Sept. 25, 2003, the only appearance in all of Southern California. In addition, Mr. Rothman was instrumental in the naming of Veteran’s Park Soccer Complex in honor of military veterans.
Mayor Rothman is actively serving as a Board Member of the Los Angeles County Sanitation District, and member of the Blue Ribbon Committee of the Los Angeles County Fair Association. He is the City representative on the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District Board, Four Corners Transportation Coalition, Gold Line Joint Powers Authority, Los Angeles County City Selection Committee, League of California Cities (L.A. County Division), and California Contract Cities Association.
Mr. Rothman is a graduate of the University of La Verne where he majored in business administration. Mr. Rothman and his wife Pam are proud parents of their son Jason, a masters graduate from Cal Poly Pomona, who now proudly serves and a Pomona Unified School District Board Member.

Stephen Atchley, Pomona City Council Representative for District 6 is a California native and a Pomona resident since 1963. He has been a member of the council since his first election in 2007. Prior to that time he served on the Planning Commission for two years. In addition to his council duties, Stephen also serves on the boards of a number of government agencies and associations. He is the voting member delegate of the National, State and Los Angeles County Divisions of the League of Cities. He also represents the city on the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments. He is vice chair of the Alameda Corridor East Construction Authority that is charged with the completion of $1.5 billion in grade separation projects in the San Gabriel Valley. He serves on the Gold Line Joint Powers Association, a light rail construction agency that will extend from Pasadena to the Ontario Airport, when completed. Stephen also serves on the board of C.L.A.S.P., an after school program that serves elementary school children in Pomona and Claremont schools. He has served in the past as chair of the Pomona Valley Transit Authority and on the Tri-City Mental Health Association. He regularly serves as Master of Ceremonies for the Pomona Concert Band. He is a member of the Blue Ribbon Committee of the Los Angeles County Fair Association. He is a board member of the Pomona Valley Protective Agency and serves on the Finance Committee of that organization.
In his private life, Stephen teaches Economics and Finance to undergraduate and graduate college students at Kingston University. He travels on business to Asia frequently and has visited over forty cities in China, Korea and Japan. With his wife, Patrice he has one son and seven daughters, and three dogs. His hobby is magic and he performs at business and private events in both Southern California and across Asia.

She is the daughter of Ginna and Cesar Escobar, and has lived in Pomona her whole life. Ginna attended local schools such as Decker Elementary, Lorbeer Middle School, Pomona Catholic High School, Mt. San Antonio College, and the University of La Verne. Her extensive public and private education allowed her to earn two national Championships on the Speech and Debate team with Mt. San Antonio College. In 2009, Ginna received a Gold Medal in Speech to Entertain, a Gold Medal in Interpreters Theater, and a Bronze Medal in Duo Interpretation. In 2010, she obtained a Silver Medal in Speech to Entertain, a Bronze Medal in Interpreters Theater, and a Bronze Medal in Dramatic Interpretation.
Other notable achievements of Ginna's include being an accomplished singer, choreographer and dancer, model, actress, and even a distinguished black belt in martial arts. She is a member of the Thespian Society and has toured internationally performing musical theater in New York, Las Vegas, France and England. In 2004 she recorded at Abbey Roads Studio, London, UK with Karousel Kids, a non-profit organization based out of Claremont, California. In 2008 she was the recipient of the Rainbow Award with Karousel Kids. She also was crowned Miss Ecuadorian American Chamber of Commerce 2004-2005. In 2005 she was crowned and proudly reigned as Miss Teen Pomona.
For two years she was an Activities Assistant at Inland Valley Care and Rehabilitation Center in Pomona, providing activities such as exercise, reading, monthly dinners, and daily games for the elderly. She is also active in her parish at Saint Josephs Catholic Church. Ginna continues to volunteer for a variety of causes because she understands the value of community and charity.
Ginna is a delegate for the California Contract Cities Association, a member of the Blue Ribbon Committee of the Los Angeles County Fair Association, an alternate delegate of the Downtown Pomona Owner Association, and part of the Four Corners Transportation Coalition. She is also on the City Council Budget Ad Hoc Committee, and City Council Cultural Planning Advisory Committee.
Ginna’s passion for the performing arts motivated her to be an active member of the community because she cares about health, fitness, and emotional well-being . In June 2011 she opened her dance studio located in the Phillips Village Shopping Center. Her extraordinary ability to relate with people of all ages is reflected in her business philosophy which caters to people from ages 2-92. Ginna is a strong supporter of community revival and shopping locally in order to support her neighborhood.
