Solar Cup – The Nation’s Largest Solar Boat Program
Solar Cup is a seven-month program that begins in the fall, in which high school teams totaling about 800 students build and race solar-powered boats at Lake Skinner, in Temecula Valley, learning about conservation of natural resources, electrical and mechanical engineering, problem solving and much more.

Diamond Ranch High School was picked to take place in Solar Cup 2012. The event will take place on May 18-20, 2012 at Lake Skinner. City of Pomona, Three Valleys Water District, and Walnut Valley Water District co-sponsored the Diamond Ranch High School located in Pomona. Approximately 40 teams participate in the event.
