Oversight Committee

The City of Pomona invites you to apply for the:

CITIZENS OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

During the November 6, 2018 General Municipal Election, the voters of the City of Pomona voted to pass Measure PG relating to the establishment of a 0.75% TUT (sales tax) in the City of Pomona.

In conformance with Ordinance No. 4253, it is required that a Citizens Oversight Committee (COC) be established. The purpose of the COC will be to serve in an advisory capacity to the City. Its responsibilities and duties include: annually reviewing the City’s revenues and expenditures of the Transactions and Use Tax; holding public meetings throughout the year as often as City Council directs; reviewing annual audit reports related to the tax; and preparing written reports to the City Council that summarizes the Committee’s findings and recommendations.

The City Clerk’s office is now accepting applications for the Citizens Oversight Committee and the deadline to apply is Monday, April 15, 2019 by 12:00 p.m. Applications are available on the City’s website at www.ci.pomona.ca.us and at the City Clerk’s office.

The first meeting for the Citizens Oversight Committee is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. For further inquiries regarding this recruitment, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at (909) 620-2341.
